When an extraordinary vessel is coming alongside a few kilometers from where I am, it’s impossible to me not to see it.

Banque Populaire V is one of those. She was in Sète last week where I had the chance to visit it, to have nice exchanges with the crew of this amazing piece of innovation, engineering and art. Giant, huge, powerfull, extraordinary, amazing, words are not enough to describe the feeling you have in front of her. Dark is the inside, full carbon or sandwich build, no concession is made to comfort, performance is the only goal.

With Pascal Bidégorry leading the team, she achieved 3 records in the last months. The last in date, crossing the Mediterranean sea 455 miles between Nice and Carthage in about 14h 20mn at an average speed above 31 knots. I will for sure follow her next challenge, the famous “Trophée Jules Verne”, she might be waiting for a proper weather window in November 2010.

After his 8th place on the AG2R Transat, Laurent Pellecuer is back in France. We met him in Sète where he was attending the Xtrem40 Series, then we found him on the water for a stormy training in La Grande Motte. Nice Light, Strong wind, special conditions he really likes.

Last Week-end, Sète was receiving the first leg of 2010 Xtrem40 series championship.

Ultralight catamaran skipped by sailing legends holding together an umbelievable palmares of Olympic medals, Races around the world, Atlantic records and regattas. 8 racers on a tiny track, tactic and options, speed and manoeuvers, a great event, a few meters from the public, just an amazing spectacle.

Sète, typical city, fishing harbour  on the french mediterranean coast, a few kilometers from where I live.

One of the last game of the season took place yesterday evening in Montpellier. Marseille, actual leader of the french league was playing the championship leadership against Montpellier. Find here after some shots of this evening…

Regarding weather conditions, “Le Mondial du Vent” in Leucate had been particularly lucky this year. Experimenting a lack of conditions during the week, the two Week-ends have been quiet sunny & windy, with a surprising temperature, we were not used to. Crowded on the sundays, this popular event was once again a success.

In the ski history, Chamonix hold a praticular place. Being in the heart of the french alps, this little town is mythical and well known all around the world as one of the best skiing and climbing spot in the world. Discovering those slopes for the first time was a real pleasure, enjoying the light changing along the day was another one.

Portraits of professional snowboarders are not that easy to take on the action field ! Because of googles and maks they are most of the time pretty invisible. That’s why we organized this special studio shooting above and underwater…

A Week of shooting was organized in les 2 Alpes to open this summer season. Having all the riders at the same place during a week free of any contest and engagement was an oportunity not to be missed. “Rendez-vous” on the “Glacier” for action shooting…

Particular thanks to Bizmut, the artist who provided us with the giant paintings used for this shooting.

Yesterday, we arrived in les 2 Alpes (French Alps) for the 2008 Kids-Week edition. 25 Kids, snowboarders & skiers will compete all along the week to impress coaches and try to enter Oxbow Junior team.

David Livet, Flo Cuviller & Laurent Favre, professional Oxbow team riders will coach the kids until the end of the week, sharing with them, ride and after ride sessions.

Stormy weather today, we are expecting better conditions for the rest of the week. Everyday shootings will allow the kids to leave the camp with their own Photo CD to start or complete their books.
